Compassion Goes to Church
Amazing Grace
Bubba Ezell has been there – and done that. “Alcohol and drugs took me further than I wanted to go and kept me longer than I wanted to stay,” he emphasized. Bubba finally connected with a Christian treatment center in Logansport where he accepted Jesus.
With a burden to reach the lost and a heart to minister to those experiencing addiction, Bubba returned to Franklin Parish a changed man with a vision for Amazing Grace Ministries. “What we learned is when we can get the dad in (treatment), and he gets right with God, he brings his wife and kids, and we’ve been able to change whole families.”
However, Amazing Grace is not your typical compassion ministry.
Bubba explained, “Most of the time a church plant begins a compassion ministry. This is a compassion ministry that planted a church.” Formerly known as Peniel Baptist Church, God has blessed the merger of Amazing Grace Ministries and its newly launched campus in Bawcomville, Rescue Church. God is using bi-vocational pastor, Russell Caldwell, to reach a community in desperate need of the gospel. Easter Sunday saw more than 100 people in worship, and Rescue Church has baptized over forty people – and counting.
Your gifts to the Georgia Barnette Louisiana Missions Offering help support Pastor Russell and fund a remodeling project that converts part of the church into dorm-style housing for up to 30 men who are participating in the Amazing Grace residential program.
